Smart Manufacturing & Engineering Week returns to NEC

From 5-6 June, the NEC Birmingham will see the return of Smart Manufacturing & Engineering Week 2024.

From guitar competitions, live performances and the ‘Oscars’ of the manufacturing industry, this year’s event brings together cutting-edge technology developments with the excitement and creativity of festival-style attractions.

The Guitar Legends Competition makes a return, inviting entrants to showcase their musical talents by playing and recording music – from intros and riffs to full songs. Judged by professional musicians, the competition promises to be fierce, with the winner walking away with a 3D printed guitar.

As the sun sets on the first day, the Day 1 ‘after-show’ party will kick off, offering visitors and exhibitors a chance to unwind.

Continuing the theme of fun and refreshment, the Smoothie Bike Challenge gives attendees an opportunity to create their own smoothie using pedal power alone.

A highlight of Smart Manufacturing & Engineering Week is the prestigious Top 100 Manufacturer Awards, often hailed as the ‘Oscars’ of the manufacturing sector. Scheduled for the evening of June 5th, this is a celebration of the people who truly drive the heart of UK manufacturing. The Top 100 Manufacturer Awards shine a spotlight on the most dynamic leaders and innovators across the UK, focusing on the individuals behind the scenes rather than the well-known companies they represent.

The Best of British showcase is a centrepiece of SM&E Week, featuring the pinnacle of UK manufacturing and engineering. The showcase displays world-beating new designs, innovative manufacturing methods, and category-redefining products that demonstrate the UK’s ability to compete on a global stage. This installation celebrates the achievements of firms that have made significant impacts domestically and abroad.

SM&E Week 2024 is a comprehensive platform for learning, networking, and exploring the latest industry trends. With interactive exhibits, hands-on workshops, and insightful presentations, attendees will gain valuable knowledge and experiences to take back to their workplace.
